With the rise of house music came the rise of Galantis, an electro house group from Stockholm, Sweden.

The two members, Linus Elköw and Christian Karlsson, have been making dance-pop music since 2012 and performing their dance-pop music all over the world. With their hit single “Runaway, You & I” hitting top charts in 2015, the group became known for their unique DJ mixes and signature SeaFox character which appeared in all of the group’s music videos and albums.

Christian Karlsson became famous in the electronic and pop world for being a member in Miike Snow and for winning a Grammy for co-writing “Toxic” by Brittany Spears. The other member Linus Eklöw has been playing the drums since he can remember and started mixing drum beats on a computer at the age of 15.

Galantis performed at Stubb's on Nov. 24 to a packed house of about 2,000 eager fans. The concert was the perfect way to burn off all of the food that was eaten at Thanksgiving dinner the night before, the fans were eager to dance as soon as they stepped foot inside of Stubb’s.

Fans dance as smoke is blown out from the stage.

The fact that the two band members stand behind a DJ booth didn’t stop them from constantly dancing around the stage. Karlsson jumped off of the top of the DJ booth at least 14 times and both members help up a sign at the end of the show that said “Thank you SeaFox Nation, We Love You.” By the end of the concert, the atmosphere was dusty and filled with confetti and a sea of enthusiastic fans.

ORANGE Magazine had the chance to sit down with the group to talk about their experiences before their show at Stubb’s.

What is your biggest inspiration when it comes to making music?

Elköw: I don’t know there are so many inspirations when it comes to making music. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve just been inspired by music in general. I would hit my drum set and everyday I woke up all I wanted to do was hit my drum set, it’s the only thing you want to do.

What is one word you would use to describe “The Aviary,” your new album?

Karlsson: Journey.

Your 2014 debut album, “The Pharmacy,” was recorded in a secluded studio but “The Aviary” was recorded while you two were on tour. How did being on tour affect the creation of “The Aviary?”

Karlsson: I have a hard time even changing studios so having to create from nothing was very inspirational and having to work from a laptop was very different. But I think as a creative, you need to put yourself in those situations in order to grow as an artist.

What do you want your fans to feel when they listen to your new album?

Karlsson: I don’t think it’s up to us to tell the fans what to feel but as long as they feel something, I’m happy.

What is your favorite part about touring in Texas?

Karlsson: When I toured with Miike Snow we performed in Austin and I fell in love with the city. You can’t compare Austin to any other city in the world. We are really excited.

Elköw: This is Galantis’s first time headlining in Austin too.

Karlsson: It’s going to be great time.

Is there anything you would like to say to the fans attending your concert?

Karlsson: Live in the moment and forever tonight!
